These are soon to be your healthcare workers … unionized under the SEIU banner.

We won’t need death panels, premature death will be built into the system.

Nah, we'll off ourselves to avoid these bozos!

tax union dues

grateful_red (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 5:30PM EST (link)

Why can’t we tax union dues as “income”

This would reduce the amount of money that unions have to lobby the govt and potentially reduce the tax burden on the non unionized private sector.

Why not give credit to the Red State diary that had this first?

barrypopik (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 8:24PM EST (link)

Why can’t the front page ever credit the diaries on this site?

Why not give credit to the Red State diary that had this first?

This happened to me with the GM “TARP was repaid” lie. Something made the front page that I’d posted, in greater detail, right here, over half a day earlier.

A hat tip to a fellow Red State diarist costs nothing. Why not extend simple courtesy?

Just to piss you off, that's why.

Bill S (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 8:55PM EST (link)

I’m sure you’ve read EVERY SINGLE FRONT PAGE DIARY and you know that we NEVER, EVER, EVER credit other diarists, don’t you?

I do it all the time. I’ve seen it done a couple of times in the last week.

News flash, Skippy: not everyone has the time to read every single user diary. Some of us do have lives outside Redstate.

I’ve got a life outside in Business and after today’s talk with a flight school on washing their airplanes, a very good business indeed. It looks like it’s going to be good. I’d make a diary but I think that relaying things in an open thread is better.

No, it wasn't a nice comeback.

I asked for professionalism and courtesy, and I got insults.

It doesn’t take long to browse the diaries, or use the search box. Just a few seconds, actually. You can still “have a life.”

And courtesy on RedState is free.

Barry that happens from time to time

Richard Mullins (Diary) Wednesday, April 28th at 3:36PM EST (link)

I don’t consider them insults more like Reminding people that reading all the diaries is impossible. Besides, it became an open thread and give me an opportunity to ask the question that no one seems to ask, what happen to us after the Chinese economic meltdown? It’s coming and I don’t think we are ready.

With appreciation, barrypopik, but Bill S is right...

LaborUnionReport (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 9:32PM EST (link)

there are a lot of diaries and it’s hard to check to see if your post has already been covered (or not)…

On the LUR blog (not here), this month, we’re pushing 100 posts in 30 days…just for the heck of it…so my objective is to do stuff of value to LUR readers first and, if I think it would be good for RS, I cross post it here.

I try to avoid something someone else has covered, but it’s not always avoidable.

In either case, it matters not. :)

I feel the same way every time Rush takes a position I've been writing about.

Flagstaff (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 10:19PM EST (link)

Somehow, “Flagstaff,” never gets mentioned. When he spoke today about how civil servants don’t add to the creation of national wealth, I just thought, “Glad you are mentioning it, Rush.” His mention is worth about 200 of anything I might write.

Heck, even Keefums couldn’t bring himself to mention my username as he named “Redstate” the “Third Worst, etc.

(^;^)

It’s just a fact of life that the person with the biggest microphone gets the attention, and what’s important is that even more people get exposed to the ideas. Maybe if I were trying to make a living at it I’d be more upset along with you, but for now I just say, “Rush must be reading my stuff!”

Disclaimer: I have to admit that I have no confidence that even my own ideas are unique. After all, Newton and Leibniz each developed the calculus independently during the second half of the 17th century. (Note, however, that I worked myself into a comparison with Newton and Leibniz. I can safely say that nobody else would write that.)

Red State has a search box to check diaries.

barrypopik (Diary) Wednesday, April 28th at 3:12AM EST (link)

Red State has a search box. If you can’t read the diaries, you can search for a few seconds. Saturday Night Live skits usually get posted somewhere before Tuesday.

It’s very frustrating to post something and get almost no comments or recommendations, and then Erick Erickson posts the same thing on the front page and everyone here has something to say.

If a front page poster later realize that there was a diary that you had missed (because someone points it out), why not correct the post and give RedState credit?

My name is not “Skippy,” and I don’t appreciate the hate here.

I agree, especially with directors.

Common_Cents (Diary) Wednesday, April 28th at 2:42PM EST (link)

I’ve seen it numerous times, especially with breaking news. Do we want a community here or directors trampling over other contributors?

It is courtesy to check the recent diaries before posting nearly the same thing w/out adding any analysis and different angles to the story.

It happened today when I posted the announcement on Crist going independent and it was then reposted 20 minutes later by Erick.

Call it whining if you want, I call it a little courtesy to make an attempt to look and give a hat tip or two.

You don’t even acknowledge my point.

You don’t mind multiple posts, ones posted 10,20 minutes, an hour later?

It junks up the site and is not necessary unless there is additional in depth analysis/angles.

But I guess it’s ok w/ directors and dear leader.

I know that a great deal about the us having the Chinese buying bonds

Richard Mullins (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 9:32PM EST (link)

but I afraid that another question needs to be raised, since the Chinese are trying to defy the law of economics and have 10-12% growth year to year, what happens in 5 to 10 years when they will have a meltdown? It something we better think about and when that happens, the price of gold will go way down because the Chinese will be selling all of it to get out of the hole they put themselves in.

I'm being very kind to them

Richard Mullins (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 9:51PM EST (link)

Although the problems of trying to do this are taking effect. I knew something wasn’t going to work after the Chinese said that they wanted to be more Keynesian than a Keynesian. The Dollar index isn’t super bad or great and might get better because the euro will be very worthless. Still wondering who will pick up the pieces of the Chinese and US economies when that happens(unless we change course soon).

Chinese will be selling dollars at a discount

raginpatriot (Diary) Tuesday, April 27th at 11:52PM EST (link)

Methinks that they’ll hold onto their gold. They’re long-term thinkers, and have to recognize the ultimate fate of fiat currencies throughout history, and the dollar now that we’re entrenched in a debt-to-fund-Social Security (and all the rest) cycle.

Kind of like a variation of Gresham’s Law, they’ll sell the crap first, even at fire sale prices, and hold onto the good stuff (gold). In fact, selling the “reserve currency” dollar at fire sale prices will cause the gold value to skyrocket.

With their massive holdings, I doubt that it’s lost on the Chinese that they can make the value of gold skyrocket pretty much at their whim, given their massive holdings of dollars.

That's not really possible

Richard Mullins (Diary) Wednesday, April 28th at 3:30PM EST (link)

because having the gold around is only they will need in the future in order to pay off their debt. Having gold as a reserve currency is very old school and is not good if you want to be a modern state. Right now things aren’t working out great for them and their attempt to be more Keynesian than a Keynesian, is going the worst thing. When they crash, it’s going to be worse than Dubai and if they stay on there track of buying more euro’s(which they are doing), they euro will go down a lot. The side effect of Chinese going under will be massive and if we think they can afford to buy more US treasury bonds, we’ll go under with them. It’s not good anyway you go. The thought of the Chinese going under is something that isn’t being discussed now. Not by Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh or anyone.

Chinese continue to kill Religious prisoners and sell organs

GregInFla (Diary) Wednesday, April 28th at 12:08AM EST (link)

Nice article Washington Times, h/t tp Mark Levin this evening. I ma waiting for the 60 minutes show on it… not.

China’s hidden policy of executing prisoners of the forbidden quasi-Buddhist group Falun Gong and harvesting their organs for worldwide sale has been expanded to include Tibetans, “house church” Christians and Muslim Uighurs, human rights activists said Monday.

In a news conference on Capitol Hill, several speakers, including attorney David Matas of B’nai Brith Canada and Ethan Gutmann of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, said their investigations have unearthed a grisly trade in which an estimated 9,000 members of Falun Gong have been executed for their corneas, lungs, livers, kidneys and skins.
