for people like me, whose Representative is a NO. Does it help for me to make out of district calls? I’ve contacted Stupak with encouragement to remain a firm no. I’ve also contacted Rep’s in the state where I grew up. Are out of district calls and emails ignored?

Call them all, as this is a national issue and the House members are obligated to preserve the Constitution. The oath is below.

because I’m in the same boat. My Rep is a huge NO; however, I do still contact him and let him know my feelings. But I have often wondered if it does any good at all to call other reps, at least in my state. If you email from their websites, you have to put in your zip and then it won’t allow if you aren’t in their district.

I have donated to senate and house candidates far, far from my New York City district where the left-wing ideologue Jerrold Nadler is my congressman and Charles Schumer and her parkeet Gillibrand are my senators.

I may not have a good congressperson or senators myself; I can make donations to help others to get some.

I let them know that I donate outside my district. (I was told by one person’s snippy gatekeeper “We know the script,”) BUT here’s my question: I don’t know where these people stand.

I just reached Mike Ross’s office and was told that he’s a firm No (which I didn’t know). Stupak probably remains a firm No; I said I called to thank him for his principled opposition AND that he could count on people like me to support a future campaign if he’s in trouble and needs $$$.

Still, I would like to know (since time is precious) whom we really should be calling and leaning upon. Yes, Sheet Anchor, this is a very important vote — possible the most important of our lives — and we need to call and lean where it counts.

’nuff said. Back to the phone!

BTW, I’m getting through pretty easily to the home offices. Harder to get through the lines in D.C.
