While perusing Drudge after a long day at work I saw a link quoting VP Cheney, so naturally I clicked it. I didn’t really find much in the story that was useful, but then I came across this gem of a quote by some anonymous staffer:
“The president sees it as a chance to present our points and advance our interests, and you’re not conceding anything,” the official said. “What’s more powerful that the president of the United States making these points to your face?”
That, is an excellent question. What is more powerful than the President of the United States making his case, not his country’s, directly to your face?
Below the fold I shall show you.
Which, oddly enough, brings me back to the original reason I clicked on the Drudge link, VP Cheney:
There is no reason for an American president to bow to anyone. Our friends and allies don’t expect it, and our enemies see it as a sign of weakness.
Once again, VP Dick Cheney beats down the Obama Administration in fifty words or less.

However, unlike Duh Won, I bothered to learn how to bow. To bow while shaking hands is a gaffe that no one with any claim to knowledge of Japanese customs would commit. In meeting with a Japanese, you can either bow or shake hands – either is acceptable. To attempt to both bow and shake hands demonstrates an almost total ignorance of Japanese customs. What were theState Department protocol officers doing? They are supposed to brief visiting government officials. Or have the professionals been replaced by members of the Chicago gang/

Why do you like Cheney?
samdallas (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 1:04AM EST (link)While I think the bow is pathetic, Cheney was they guy that cost us billions on a senseless Iraq war that more importantly divided our troops. Why do any conservatives like him? The only thing worse than a tax and spend fool is a borrow and spend fool. We just had 8 years of borrow and spend fools, and are looking at at least 4 more. There is exactly one country that was thrilled with Cheney’s adventures in Iraq: Iran. And we funded it.
A lot of people on this site need to decide whether they are conservatives or just Republicans right or wrong. I have only been on a couple of weeks, and see some nice discussions, but way too much “bowing” to the Republican borrow and spend non-conservatives (whose champions are Mr Bush and Mr Cheney).

Context -nt
OccamsRazor (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 1:43AM EST (link).
I'll explain the context
samdallas (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 1:52AM EST (link)I think the problem with Obama is his spending and extension of government powers. While his bow was silly, it is really just a dumb gaffe. Then bringing in Cheney as somebody we ought to listen to miffed me. I mean this guy wrote so many checks on my daughter’s future earnings I cant count them. I think we need to stick to the issues of spending and big government and not tabloid crap like this bow. Make sense?
In Physics, there's a magnification in error
OccamsRazor (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 2:09AM EST (link)that becomes unacceptable beyond the margin of error very quickly for a reason-reality can no longer be trusted physically at that point. As applied in politics, I’d like to impose ‘gaffes’ upon ‘gaffes’ upon ‘ ‘gaffes’ have a magnifying affect which quickly becomes impressed upon the People.
Now, you’ll find few who’ll argue for big government spending here-no doubt. And your being ‘miffed’ at listening to Cheney, for the reasons you cite, are warranted IMO. However, Cheney at minimum is the red hot ironed steal, with enough name recognition, to be used at minimum a foil against the onslaught of the left. He’s laid low enough as not to hinder our goals, and has made enough valid points to feint while we come up with our next best move.
The Context Here Is That Cheney
OccamsRazor (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 2:21AM EST (link)Despite how you splice his Vice Presidency, is proud enough, and believes in his County enough (right or wrong) never to have bowed to a foreigner (particularly those with Historical legacies of Authoritarianism), whereas Obama has an habitual pattern of doing just that.

samdallas, because he's right.
Aaron Gardner (Diary) Wednesday, November 18th at 8:57AM EST (link)I tried to make the point of my diary clear, I guess I should have explained it better for those incapable of genuine thought.
The problem with the bow is really two fold. First there is the fact that protocol doesn’t require, nor do nation expect a bow. Second, the bow proceeded a trip to speak to China’s dictator, in which POTUS surely was hoping to speak from a position of strength. Any position of strength that he may have had was lost the moment he bowed to a foreign dignity.
Now if you want to talk about the merits of the Iraq war, I suggest you go write a diary about it so we can properly mock you.
Thanks.
